YUMMY Pavlova

PAVLOVA

A GREAT DESSERT TO GO WITH ANY DINNER

3 egg whites
1/4 tsp crm tartar
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chilled whipping cream or whip up your own-much better
2 tbsp sugar
Fruit for on top

Heat oven to 225. Line bottom of a round pan or cookie sheet with brown paper. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in 3/4 cup sugar, 1 tbsp at a time. Add vanilla.
Spread in pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours. Turn oven off and leave in for an additional hour. remove and transfer carefully to another serving plate. Be very careful. Invert if you like.

Mexican Pozole

So I see there has not been anything added here in a long time. I would like to change that and start adding recipes. So here is one.


Pork Pozole

Makes: 6 servings View Nutrition Facts

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 ounces) yellow or white hominy, drained

  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) Mexican-style diced tomatoes

  • 1 can (10 ounces) mild green enchilada sauce

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin

  • 1-1/2 pounds boneless pork loin

  • ½ cup chopped cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • Baked tortilla chips

  • Diced avocado and lime wedges, optional

Directions

1. Combine the hominy, tomatoes, enchilada sauce, onion, garlic, and cumin in a 4-quart slow cooker. Top with pork, spooning hominy mixture over the meat. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

  1. Place pork on a cutting board. Add cilantro and lime juice to the slow cooker. Coarsely chop pork; return to cooker, and stir well. Spoon into shallow bowls. Serve with tortilla chips, and if your family is a fan of avocado and lime wedges, include them too.

Beef & Noodle Dish

1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
1 onion, sauted till tender
1 pepper, sauted till tender
1TBS worchestershire sauce
1- 10oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
1 can tomatoe soup
1 can cream of celery
1-1 1/2 cups cheese

In skillet add beef, onion, pepper, worchestershire sauce, soups and mix togerher. Add in noddles and tranfer to baking dish. Top with cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Mellow Jello

This one is great for potlucks and other get togethers!

Jello mixture:
2 small pkgs lemon pudding (cook type)
1 large pkg. orange jello

Topping:
1 small pkg lemon (instant)
1 cup milk
1 cup cool whip
mandrine oranges

Make leomon pudding cook type according to package directions and let cool. Make jello and mix jello and pudding together. Place mixture in 9 x 13 casseraole dish and let jello set up. For the topping, mix the small lemon instant pudding with milk and add cool whip. After the jello mixture sets up spread topping over jello and decorate with mandrine oranges.

Mexican Rice

I got the recipie from the Zapata family on my mission. Its delicious!!

3 TBS oil
1 cup long grain rice
1 cloves med. garlic (Blend in blender with 2tsp water)
1/4 med onion- diced
2 TBS Knoww tomato bullion
2 cups chicken broth or water

In 2 qt sauce pan pour 3 TBS oil till hot. Then pour in cup of rice and stir till almost brown. Add onion and saute. Add garlic, 2 cups water, and Knorr tomato bullion (stir until completely dissolved). Cover and cook on reduce heat for 20 minutes

*The original recipie said 2 garlic cloves but it was too much and I ended up doubling the rice and it was yummy!!

Huckleberry Curmb Cake

This is one of my favorites!! I was hoping someone could post some of their summer favorites!! Anybody????

Topping
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon cinnnomon
1Tablespoon butter melted

Cake mix
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups huckleberries (tossed in flour)

Mix cake together and place in 9x13 pan and sprinkle with topping.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.

French bread

So I made yummy french bread from the breadmaker. I mix it in the breadmaker, but I take it out before it starts to rise and form my (2) loaves and let it rise on warm/ 200 degree's in the oven for 20-25 minutes. I bake it at 350 for 20-25 minutes also. Its a very simple recipie!
I served it with chicken alfredo.

1.5 lb Loaf
1 cup 2 Tbsp. water (75-85 degrees)
2 tsp. butter
3 1/4 cup flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. bread machine yeast
